Don't Force It

Lately, I've been uninspired in relation to this blog. All my standard ideas for posts bore me and I can't come up with anything creative to warrant me putting the time in to do a post. I always tend to be hard on myself when it comes to deadlines, with essays at uni and with blog posts. In my head I have a schedule for things and it has to be done by then otherwise I just feel like I've failed.

On Twitter I saw a discussion on publishing blog posts at a set time and whether people actually care. I myself, as well as most others it seems, don't wait around to read a post as soon as it's published. When I get the time or am in the mood I go through my Bloglovin' feed which just has every post of all the blogs I follow. All the posts are there and I know which ones I haven't read yet, it's great. So with that in mind, I started to wonder why I stick to a schedule. As of now, it's more habit than anything else. Sooo I'm ditching my schedule, I'll still probably stick with posts on Tuesday & Thursday but the time I press publish will just be whenever.

I think my inspiration and joie de vie as it were is at a low. I just feel like I'm walking without moving or swimming against a current, whatever analogy you prefer. At the moment I just don't know what to do, my life is stagnant and really has no central purpose. I've made the decision to go back to uni next year, to do a degree which will really help me move towards the career I want. Until then I don't know what to do. I'm applying for jobs but getting nowhere, I'm also applying for volunteer positions at museums but haven't heard back about anything yet. I'm constantly waiting for something to happen. There's also other issues which I should probably attempt to deal with but just can't be bothered.

Until something happens or my mood changes I'm just gonna do whatever I feel excited about. At the moment I'm really enjoying making videos for my YouTube channel. I upload on Fridays and tomorrow's vid is really cool if I do say so. Other things that make my heart pulse with a feeling I'm not quite sure of but I think it might be passion is learning French on Duolingo and a TV show called Versailles. It follows Louis XIV and him turning Versailles into the palace it is today. Thanks to that show I've now fallen down the rabbit hole in regards to French royal history and need to know everything. I've also just bought a book which is about the movie Marie Antionette, it is by Sofia Coppola and has the most stunning pictures. It's one of my favourite movies and I can't wait till it arrives. I'm also reminiscing about my days as an art history student and I'm really missing learning about paintings and the lives of those they depict. I often think about what I would do for my Masters. There's a number of avenues I could go down but as usual, I can't decide. I'm one of those people who really enjoyed uni and learning, I actually can't wait till I have something to work towards.

As previously mentioned above Bloglovin' is an awesome website and you can follow my blog here.
